ChildSafe South Africa is proud to announce the appointment of Natasha Wagiet as the new Chairperson of the Board.
Natasha Wagiet brings a wealth of experience to ChildSafe. As a Pro Bono Manager overseeing the ENS Africa’s Pro Bono-CSI programme, she has worked extensively with vulnerable individuals and groups, and has significant experience in impact litigation, training, and advocacy. Her background includes liaising with various stakeholders from both government and civil society, conflict resolution, and legal administration.
She holds an LLB from the University of Cape Town and an LLM from the University of the Western Cape. She is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Her dedication to ensure justice and equality is demonstrated through her extensive legal expertise in impact litigation, advocacy, and her role in overseeing the ENS Pro Bono-CSI programme. She also has a keen interest in employment law.
Natasha is deeply committed to ensuring access to justice for all, addressing socio-economic rights issues, as well as Environmental, Social, and Governance related matters. Her leadership is expected to bring new energy and direction to ChildSafe’s mission of preventing injuries to children through research, education, and advocacy.
ChildSafe, originally founded as a campaign of the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Southern Africa (CAPFSA), have implemented numerous successful programs, education initiatives, advocacy campaigns, and partnerships with schools and the Government over the years.
